sp3 Diamond Technologies, Inc. (sp3), a leading supplier of diamond products, deposition equipment and services, today announced that it has shipped its first hot filament (HF) chemical vapor deposition (CVD) reactor to China. With this shipment, sp3 has shipped 17 HF diamond deposition reactors in the last 24 months, underscoring a growing global demand for CVD diamond technology and equipment.
“This shipment marks a major milestone for sp3 Diamond Technologies as we enter into China with our diamond technology,” said Dwain Aidala, president and COO of sp3 Diamond Technologies, Inc. “Our ability to meet the demands of China’s expanding market further validates the quality and performance of our diamond deposition systems. Our increased exports also highlight the opportunities that exist for U.S.-based, expertise-driven manufacturers to strengthen the domestic economy.”
sp3’s CVD diamond coatings have been proven across a wide range of industries, including cutting tools for machining non-ferrous materials, wear applications, electrodes, chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) pad conditioners and wafer-scale diamond for semiconductor-related uses, as well as several other technology related applications. In total, the company has more than 35 of its HF CVD diamond deposition reactors operating around the globe.
This new customer will take delivery of a Model 655 reactor for use in cutting tool applications. The Model 655 Series HF CVD deposition systems offer an industry-leading solution for manufacturing nano- or micro-crystalline diamond films, providing precise and repeatable diamond deposition for production applications.
